From Dough to Destiny: The Artisan Awakening

I didn’t start out thinking I’d become the creator behind handcrafted breads and small-batch specialties. It began with an increased interest in organic farming and elevating traditional dishes through creative cooking techniques and ingredients. By incorporating my passion for global cuisine and my husband’s love of viniculture and food pairing, the recipes and methods continued to evolve through hundreds of test trials.

As we fine-tuned our creations, many of our friends, family and neighbors participated as tasters. These were micro changes that could only be noticed with side-by-side comparison tastings, but detail which rendered a more perfect product. Once the development process was completed, we began making larger batches and delivering them to family, friends and neighbors as surprise gifts. We would often leave them on their porch in a well-complimented basket; hence the business name “Out On The Porch”.

It was during the Pandemic that the idea solidified. Having the time to pursue my interest, I began to spend more time cooking, as it provided a sense of calm and joy, of memories of my mother’s kitchen, where warmth rose with the scent of slow-simmered jam and freshly baked loaves. Back then, all the effort and love for the craft was not called “artisanal”—it was just family, flavor, and pride. But deep down, we understood that food was more than nourishment, it was storytelling, passed down through generations.

As life got back to some normality, I found the fast-paced, daily routine of my career left me uninspired, I found myself baking late at night, kneading dough like therapy, experimenting with spice blends just to feel a sense of creativity and accomplishment. What started as stress relief quickly became an obsession. As friends, neighbors and their friends began asking for more bread, and jars of sauces, jams and dry rubs, the late-night therapy became more frequent.

On one particular evening around 2am, with my hands dusted in flour, I had an epiphany: this was what I wanted to build—not just a business, but a brand rooted in tradition, taste, and authenticity. So, I did the research, acquired all the necessary licenses, and launched the business—not just with products, but with a purpose.

I wanted people to feel what I felt in my creations: the joy of simple, highest quality ingredients, elevated by care and craft. Every loaf, every jar, every spice blend carries a bit of that origin story—the kitchen that raised me, and the bold leap that changed my path.
